Dog Getting Groomed

How to Prepare Your Dog for Their Appointment

A little preparation can make your dog’s grooming session smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable for both of you! Here’s how to help your furry friend feel ready and relaxed ahead of their visit to Paws Grooming Parlour.

Give Them a Walk First

A short walk before their appointment helps burn off some energy and encourages them to go to the toilet – making them more comfortable during the groom.

Let Us Know About Any Health Issues

If your dog has allergies, skin conditions, is recovering from surgery, or has any behavioural concerns, please let us know in advance. We’ll tailor the grooming session to suit their needs.

Bring Any Important Info

For first-time visits, feel free to bring along details of your dog’s grooming history or preferences – for example, if they don’t like certain areas touched or if they have sensitive spots.

Make Sure They’re Clean and Dry

We’ll do all the washing here, but if your dog is extremely muddy or soaked on arrival, it can delay their appointment and affect the grooming process. Try to keep them relatively clean and dry before you arrive.

Arrive on Time

We work one-to-one with each dog, so it’s important to arrive at your scheduled time. If you’re running late, just let us know – and please ensure your dog is on a lead or safely secured when arriving and leaving.
